چکیده

Recently, a rising interest is given to neuroimmune communication in physiological and neuropathological conditions. Meningeal immunity complex immune environment housing different types of cells. Here, we focus on meningeal T cells, possibly the most explored aspect neuro-immune cell interactions. Emerging data have shown that cells play crucial role pathogenesis several neurodegenerative disorders, including multiple sclerosis, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s diseases. This review highlights how may contribute surveillance central nervous system (CNS) regulate neurobehavioral functions through secretion cytokines. Overall, this assesses recent knowledge their effects CNS functioning both health disease conditions underlying mechanisms.

ADENOSINE IN THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

Besides being a metabolite of nucleotides like ATP, adenosine is a mediator of neuronal function in the central nervous system. Its actions are mediated by at least three extracellular receptors. In this review different aspects of adenosine such as biosynthesis, release, inactivation and its receptors are discussed. It also covers pre- and postsynaptic effects as well as postreceptor mecha...

Regulatory Roles of Long Non-Coding RNAs in the Central Nervous System and Associated Neurodegenerative Diseases

Accumulating studies have revealed that the human genome encodes tens of thousands of long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs), which participate in multiple biological networks modulating gene expression via transcriptional, post-transcriptional and epigenetic regulation. Strikingly, a large fraction of tissue-specific lncRNAs are expressed in the Central Nervous System (CNS) with precisely regulated te...

Central nervous system and glucose homeostasis

Type 2 diabetes (T2D) is closely associated with obesity. Obesity features an abnormality in energy balance with excess energy stored in fat tissues. In T2D, the ability to regulate glucose homeostasis is compromised resulting in hyperglycemia (high levels of blood glucose). Central nervous system (CNS) plays an important role in energy and glucose homeostasis [1]. In normal situations, the neu...

Expanding Role of T Cells in Human Autoimmune Diseases of the Central Nervous System

It is being increasingly recognized that a dysregulation of the immune system plays a vital role in neurological disorders and shapes the treatment of the disease. Aberrant T cell responses, in particular, are key in driving autoimmunity and have been traditionally associated with multiple sclerosis. Yet, it is evident that there are other neurological diseases in which autoreactive T cells hav...

[Roles of cyclin-dependent kinase 5 in central nervous system development and neurodegenerative diseases].

Cyclin-dependent kinase 5 (Cdk5) is a proline-directed serine/threonine kinase, and plays multiple roles in neuron development and synaptic plasticity. The active form of Cdk5 is found primarily in the central nervous system (CNS) due to its activator proteins p35 or p39 ubiquitously expressed in neuronal cells. Normally, the transcription and activity of Cdk5 are strictly regulated by several ...
